Birthday Card project for my grandmother

So my grandmother's birthday is in April and I wanted to celebrate her all month long so I decided to make (and send) her a card every day leading up to her birthday. She loves receiving cards so I thought it would be nice for her to get some happy mail every day.

Here is card #1 which I sent with an small explanation of what's to come for her this month. I used the new Anna Griffin flip card kit to make it. Lovely set.

Hate to give it away

Ever make a card you hate to give away? I think this on might fit the bill. I really like how it turned out.

Cream and Gold card

This card is fairly simple...embossing, stamped flowers that I cut, and a few die cuts, but I think all combined it created a striking effect. I really like the look of it.

Butterfly Birthday

A card I made for a woman on Facebook's grandmother. I love the idea of showering a special person with cards...even if the person doesn't always know the giver.

Hello card

I've been making quite a few cards lately. This one I used an Anna Griffin die, my new Anna Griffin mix and match embossing folder, Webster's Pages/Allison Creft stamp, and SU Flower Fair dies.

Just Because...

Ever send a card just because?  I love sending random greetings to the people in my life to let them know I am thinking of them. This is a card I made for one of my aunts to do exactly that.

Thank you cards

I made some thank you cards using Sizzix nesting dies, MFT blueprints dies, Anna Griffin dies, Studio Calico stamps, CTMH stamps, MME and K&Co paper and of course my Kiwi Lane Templates.

Fast Birthday Card

Can't keep saying it enough...I love my Kiwi Lane Templates. I used my Delight card borders set and Tiny Shapes set to pull this card together in minutes.

Thank you cards

Got out some of my Anna Griffin cardmaking kits and made some thank you cards for my mom to give to some members of her church.

Sympathy Cards

I am so glad I bought the Anna Griffin card kit. It has made it fast and easy to create adult cards when I need them.

I had to make two sympathy cards for my mom over the weekend and my kit and some other AG items from my stash pulled it all together. I am especially loving the Anna Griffin embossing folders.

Using Project Life kits to make cards

Lately I have noticed I am loving my Studio Calico project life kits more than the main. And what makes it crazy is that I don't even do Project Life. I use my PL kits as layers and embellishments on my pages.

Today I had a light bulb moment and realized these kits are perfect for card making too. So I pulled out my kiwi lane designs templates (adorn, tiny florals, tiny accents, tiny tags) and a few PL kits and made a quick card. I even used the wording on a 3x4 card for the sentiment.

50th Anniversary Card

Made this card for my inlaws 50th anniversary. I used tons of Anna Griffin products and my Kiwi Lane Design templates.

Crafting with Jinger Adams and Kiwi Lane Designs

Tuesday Tip with Kiwi Lane and Downtown Tape

Today you get to be witness to my first forays into the joys of creating with washi tape on the Kiwi Lane Designs blog. I learned a lot and by the end of it all, I think washi has found a permanent place in my crafting arsenal. The beautiful colors and patterns of Downtown Tape washi won me over. The templates I used this month were Happy Trails, Paradise, Wacky and Tiny Wacky. They worked perfectly with my summer and vacation photos. Washi Tape Gift Card Holder Instructions

Super simple to make. All you need is a scoring tool, a paper trimmer, a KLD template, adhesive, and some washi. (these instructions are for a standard size gift card)

Cut a piece of card stock or heavy weight pattern paper to 4"W x 12"L

Score your paper at 1" from the bottom edge. Fold it up and seal ends with washi tape to make a pocket.

Place the paper back on the score board and score at the 4.5" mark and fold over to make a card.

Next put the folded card back on the score board and score at the 4.5" mark.

Place a Happy Trails template (or any template of your choosing) along the open 4" edge of the card and trace. This will create a decorative edge along the bottom of the card.

Now fold the decorative edge back, toward the front of the card and glue in place.

Decorate as desired.

Mother's Day 2013

This year I actually got my cards done and mailed out on time. Go Me! I made 4 of these cards using my Kiwi Lane Designs templates and Prima Madeline paper collection. I think they turned out pretty cute.
